THE GREER CHILI COOK-OFF WELCOMES MILHOUSE TO THE STAGE!
Millhouse will be providing the evening’s musical entertainment at this year’s event.Milhouse’s music is made of intelligent lyrics, dense and dreamy vocals and a bizarre array of unlikely instruments. The floor of Milhouse rock is the unusual combination of cello and percussion instead of bass and drums. There is a rhythmic acoustic guitar but leads and funky riffs are an interplay of electric mandolin and cello instead of guitar. The combination of instruments is a perfect catalyst for creative song composition, lead by the clear earnest tenor of Matthew Herring and punctuated with ethereal harmonies.
A Milhouse show is a shared experience of fans and friends and worthwhile organic songs carried along by musicians who bring integrity to the stage like it’s another instrument. Milhouse is simplicity in its finest, purest form.
Taking vocal and musical cues from artists like Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, The Blues Brothers and My Morning Jacket, Milhouse’s eclectic persona fits with the acts with which they’ve shared a stage: The Blue Dogs, Moses Mayfield, Scare Crow Collection and Barefoot Manner.
Milhouse dazzles with a sheer presence of intense purpose and pride in the music. Each show is a new experience. Each listen makes one want to delve deeper, stay longer and listen again and again.
”We are thrilled that Millhouse will be performing at the 2008 Chili Cook-off. Millhouse is a unique blend of savory and sweet and will be a great compliment to the fabulous chili people will have a chance to enjoy this year. Once you hear Millhouse, you will want to see them again and again.,” stated Karen Roughton, Greer Chili Cook-off Chair.
