Our Chamber

Mission
To Champion Economic Prosperity for Our Members & the Greater Greer Community.

Network
Our Chamber is made up of 450 members, including large and small businesses, government and nonprofit organizations, and individual realtors and entrepreneurs. Members employ more than 50,000 people throughout our region.

Region
Greater Greer is a town in a two-county region situated in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains in an area known as the Piedmont in Upstate South Carolina. The Chamber serves this region, which includes Greer, Taylors, Lyman, Duncan, Five Forks, and all of Greenville and Spartanburg Counties.

Infrastructures
Our region forms the western edge of Upstate South Carolina offering diverse business and industry opportunities; excellent transportation corridors with two main interstates (I-29 and I-85); and convenient access to an international airport (GSP), a rail system, and several top tier universities (Furman, Wofford, USC Upstate, Greenville Technical College, and Clemson).

Governance
As a non-profit 501 C(6) membership organization, the Chamber is governed by a diverse, 18-person Executive Board.

History
Founded in 1937 as the Greer Chamber of Commerce, our organization has a long history of promoting the economic and social development of our region. Our first President, J. S. Paget, envisioned us as a voice for Greer's industrial and agricultural sectors. In 1983, we became the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce to reflect our expanded scope and influence. Today, we continue to share the success stories of Greer and its thriving business community.
