Annual Celebration

Join us for the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce's 85th Annual Celebration on Thursday, February 9, 2023.  The evening includes a networking cocktail hour, dinner, a brief program, and annual awards presentation. Awards are given to businesses of varying sizes, community leaders, educators, and entrepreneurs.  This event celebrates the success of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce and the business community.

Annual Awards

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce recognizes businesses, educators, and community leaders with prestigious awards each year.

Ryan Storrie Entrepreneur Award
This award is presented to a person who embodies the entrepreneurial spirit and follows their dream in the greater Greer community. This award is named in honor of an individual who shared in that entrepreneurial dream- Mr. Ryan Storrie, the founder of Ember restaurant. Ryan passed away unexpectedly after the opening of his dream restaurant. This award has been established with the blessing of his parents to honor an entrepreneur. Recipients are individuals who encompasses the entrepreneurial spirit of Mr. Ryan Storrie by being an active and engaged member of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce and operating a business that makes our community a better place.

Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award
Each year, Duke Energy presents a Citizenship and Service Award to an individual that makes a difference in their communities or places of work by using their time, talents and compassion to positively impact the lives of others. Recipients of the award help foster a culture of citizenship and service that acts as a catalyst for others to become involved in civic and social activities.

J.S. "Sud" Paget Volunteer of the Year Award
This award is presented to a person who contributes an extraordinary amount of time and expertise for the purpose of helping the Chamber and our community, grow and prosper. This award is named in honor of an individual who exemplified the ideals of volunteer spirit-Mr. J.S. “Sud” Paget, the founder of our organization and our first volunteer Chairman of the Board and President for the newly formed Greer Chamber of Commerce in 1937. Recipients are individuals who encompasses the volunteer spirit of Mr. J.S. “Sud” Paget by being an active and engaged member of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce and volunteering to make our community a better place.

Chairman's Award
The Chairman's Award is presented to an individual who has been invaluable to our outgoing chairperson. Recipients of the award helped our chairperson and the chamber execute their mission of "Championing Economic Prosperity for our members and the Greater Greer Community" during their year of service.

Outstanding Leadership Award
Each year, the Leadership Development Council of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce recognizes a graduate of the Leadership Greer program, who has demonstrated effective leadership and has furthered the growth of the community.

Small Business of the Year
The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes a small business that special entrepreneurial spirit, that unique marketing approach, or that special focus on the customer that results in a successful business. They do the right thing for the customer. Their business by financial standards is a success and they still make time to serve the community. The business must have fewer than 100 employees, be locally owned and operated, and have completed two or more full years of operations.
